The foreigner can use the invitation as the proof of possession of the funds sufficient to cover all the expenses during the planned stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland, including accommodation and meals, and the costs of the return journey to the country of origin or transit cost to the third party country allowing him or her to enter.
The person inviting the foreigner can be:
- a Polish citizen residing on the territory of the Republic of Poland, citizen of another Member State of the European Union, Member State of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation or a member of his/her family, residing on the territory of the Republic of Poland and having a right of residence or right of permanent residence in this territory, or
- a foreigner staying on the territory of the Republic of Poland directly before the issue of the invitation legally and continuously for the period of 5 years or having a permanent residence permit or a long-term EU residence permit, or
- a juridical person or an unincorporated organization having its registered office in the territory of the Republic of Poland.
The foreigner can stay in the Republic of Poland according to the invitation sent by the inviting person.
